Records show that most accidents and injuries do not happen while on the bus,
they happen at bus stops before the bus arrives or after the bus has pulled away. What you
do before and after travelling on a bus is as important to road safety as your behaviour on
the bus.
DO stand well back at the bus stop until the bus
has stopped completely.
DON'T push others when the bus arrives.
DO wait until the bus moves off before crossing.
Give other drivers a chance to see you.
DON'T cross the road in front of the bus, or
between parked cars.

DO sit down in your seat quietly and quickly. If
there is no seat, move to the back of the bus and use handgrips.
DON'T distract the driver or annoy others on board
the bus.
